Within this day and age, it is important we take responsibility for our energy use and carbon footprint, and we can do this by being sustainable; still meeting the business requirements but without compromising the

environment for future generations.

We thought very carefully about how we want to contribute to helping reduce our carbon footprint and discovered carbon offset to compensate for our emissions.

Carbon offsetting is used to balance out the emissions created;

we can do this by paying towards emission savings in other parts of the world.

Roger Hyde Limited are proud to announce that we are off setting our carbon footprint by

donating towards two fabulous schemes run by the Carbon Footprint Company.

Aiding us to reduce our carbon footprint in trying to make a difference in becoming more sustainable.

We will also be participating in The Queens Green Canopy, 'plant a tree for the Jubilee' later in the Autumn of 2022;

when it is the tree planting season, in aid of celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee, and continuation in helping make

the UK a greener environment for posterity.

PROJECTS ROGER HYDE LIMITED HAS CHOSEN

Reforestation in Kenya

Supports the planting of native broad leaved trees in the Great Rift Valley, and its developing community. For each tCO2e one tree is planted and an additional tCO2e is offset through a VCS Tree Buddying project to guarantee the emission reductions.

Through the tree planting programme we are helping to: - Offset CO2 emissions - Reduce poverty - Provide wildlife habitats - Create a brighter future for project team members including orphans and people living with HIV / AIDS

Tree Buddying Concept

For each tree pledged, as well as planting a tree, they also offset one tonne of CO2 through a VCS project, which guarantees offsetting one tCO2.

This ensures our carbon offsetting: - is fully verified meeting international standards - meets BSI's PAS 2060 specification on carbon neutrality - meets the Carbon Footprint Standard and - continues to take additional CO2 out of the atmosphere during the life of the tree.

UK Tree Planting

Our funding also supports the planting of trees in the UK within the East of England area. The project mainly plants in school locations, helping to educate children and support wildlife habitats whilst sequestering carbon emissions.

For each tCO2e offset, one tree is planted in the UK and an additional tCO2e is offset through a VCS Tree Buddying project to guarantee the emission reductions.

The types of species planted varies from season to season, but all the trees planted are native broad leaf varieties.

The contributions made by Roger Hyde Limited to our chosen projects with Carbon Footprint means that there will be:

- 9 trees planted in the Rift Valley in Kenya helping towards the reforestation of the area,

- 8 trees to be planted in the East of England working alongside a school planting scheme.

A summary about the projects we have chosen:

* All projects meet the stringent requirements of the Quality Assurance Standard (QAS) for Carbon Offsetting.

* All trees pledged and planted by Carbon Footprint / ESCONET are being included in the “Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree” Campaign, across the globe to help avert damaging and economically debilitating climate change.

* VCS = Verified Carbon Standard

OUR MANUFACTURERS SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is incredibly important and becoming frequently associated with a company’s authentic and holistic approach – Roger Hyde likes to work with those companies who have similar ethics and environmental approaches.

For each of the manufacturers we work closely with and are approved craftspeople for, they respectively have their own sustainability approaches and certifications.

Some of them have kindly shared their certifications with us, if you would like to view them, please click on their logo; For more details about their individual sustainability, please visit their websites direct.

Please see below for a summary of the manufacturer’s sustainability:
